About 30 Days of Sustainability

by Mark Yuasa

is an annual celebration and affirmation of sustainability and its natural role in the world — and our lives. Through a combination of business, social, education and awareness programs, 30 Days of Sustainability aims to educate and integrate sustainability into the values of everyday citizens, corporations, NGOs, government and society.

Sandwiched between the awarding of the US$1 million Alcan Prize for Sustainability and GLOBE, the biennial conference on the business of the environment, 30 Days of Sustainability seeks to position Vancouver as the sustainability capital of the world. And why not? As New York is to finance, Milan is to fashion, and London is to theatre, so Vancouver will be to sustainability!

You are invited to play your role in this festival of sustainability. Participate in the many programs of 30 Days of Sustainability and see how you can make a difference. With a cornucopia of events and activities, there is much to see, do and learn.

From the outset, we at 30 Days of Sustainability were inspired by a quote from Margaret Mead: Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

Join us and help change the world.
